Use Web Search
Crafty automatically searches the web for current information, reads web pages, and cites its sources.
Crafty automatically searches the web when your question benefits from fresh or current information. No toggle needed — it just works.
How it works
- Open Crafty AI.
- Type a question that benefits from current information (e.g., “Latest news on vector databases”).
- Press Enter to send. Crafty automatically decides whether to search based on your question.
- While searching, a thinking section shows search queries being generated and results arriving in real time. See Use Thinking Mode for the full details on the thinking section.
- Click a result count (e.g., “5 results”) in the thinking timeline to open a source dropdown showing each page with its favicon and title.
- The final answer streams into chat with numbered
[n]citations you can click to open the original sources.
Share a URL
Paste a web link directly into your message and Crafty will fetch the page, read its content, and answer based on what it finds. The thinking section shows “Reading” and “Loaded” indicators while the page is being fetched.
Tips
- Be specific — add keywords, timeframe, and region for better results.
- Use follow-up questions to refine or compare sources.
- Share a URL directly to have Crafty read and analyse a specific page.
- Citations appear as numbered
[n]links inline with the response — click them to verify the source.
Troubleshooting
- No search triggered? Some questions don’t need web results. Try rephrasing to include “latest”, “current”, or a year.
- Few or no results? Try broader or different keywords.
- Shared URL not loading? Check that the URL is publicly accessible (not behind a login).
